Tinny out with Mini Yaanor

Tinny out with Mini Yaanor

After failing to ‘turn on’ music lovers with his Badder Than Dem remix released three months ago, one would have thought that hiplife artiste, Tinny, will do better with his latest single, Mini Yaanor, but it seems he has lost steam in the game. On Mini Yaanor, Tinny, who has in the past wowed many with his style of rap delivery once again failed to live up to expectation as one of the “seniors” in hiplife. For one who has been in the rap business for over a decade, the song definitely didn’t bring out the best of Tinny.
Recorded and produced by Hyper Lyrix studios, the song chronicles a series of raps by Tinny about how he is the best  rapper in Ghana. For him, Ghanaians are witnesses to his talent which for many years has helped him to churn out good music.   download link
Tinny goes on to rap about how he has always been himself and an advocate for the truth, one that has attracted many enemies for him.
Even though he seems to be talking about his music prowess, Tinny somewhere along the line uses swear words.
For an artiste of his calibre, one would have expected him to be cautious of his choice of words but on Mini Yaanor, Tinny throws all caution to the wind and uses very sexually explicit words. Thus Mini Yaanor may not enjoy air play unless a radio version is also made.
Tinny, real name, Nii Addo Quaynor, shot to fame when he released his debut song, Makola Kwakwe, in 2003 after the split up of the Black Agony group of which he was a member. He is known for hits such as Anaconda, Ringtone; I Believe I Can Fly, Makola Kwakwe, Kaa Bu Ame among others.
Awards he has to his credit include Young Musician of the Year at the 2004 Youth Excellence Awards, New Artiste of the Year at the 2004 Ghana Music Awards and the African Artiste of the Year at the Hip Hop World Awards in 2009.  download link
