On Wednesday last week, a commercial bus plying Agulu-Adazi-Nnokwa-Nnobi-Nnewi Road in Idemili area of Anambra State crushed three school children of same parents to death. The reckless driver also gruesomely injured the fourth sibling at the notorious intersection known as Nnokwa Junction.

Last Saturday, another accident left three people severely wounded on that same spot.

Residents reported that they saw a large python in the early hours of that Saturday at the accident spot, licking the blood of the crushed school children. Although Idemili people do not kill that specie of snakes, as it is associated with some local deity, angry residents killed the sacred serpent, eyewitnesses told the reporter.

In the afternoon of the same day, and on the same spot, a vehicle crushed a dog, and the animal died on the spot. As the residents were still struggling to recuperate from the shock of losing three innocent young siblings in one day, another ghastly accident occurred on the same spot that same Saturday at about 4pm, leaving three persons severely injured, while many more sustained various degrees of injury.

Commercial motorcycle operators who often ply the road told the reporter that the Nnokwa junction is now a theatre of terror and death. They said that so many people have lost their lives at the intersection which leads to many roads. One of them, Mr Mmaduabuchukwu Okwara told our reporter that about 13 persons have lost their lives at that spot in recent times.
